Vivaha (Hindu marriage ritual) religious texts?

I’m doing a process essay on a Hinduism’s marriage ritual called Vivaha for school, and I was wondering if anybody knew any text, whether religious or not, that has anything that relates to this?? i really need it fast! plz nd thnx!!

Vivaha is a Sanskrit word that means: “marriage”.
Until recently, in all traditional societies, religious rituals accompanied major transitions in life, such as being born, taking up education, or getting married. The Vedic scriptures call those rituals samskäras, or purifying rites. Samskära means “impression,” like ruts in soft clay or a riverbed. The purpose of samskära is to create a deep, lasting impression in the mind of the person for whom it is performed. The impression will channel the stream of the person’s thoughts and emotions in a way conducive to spiritual advancement. Psychologically, samskäras aid the development of one’s sense of identity, purpose, and fulfillment in life.
The viväha-samskära (wedding rite) offers an excellent opportunity to spiritualize thoughts, emotions, and commitments that accompany being united with one’s chosen partner.

In the Srimad Bhagavatam, the essence of all Vedic literatures, says:
loke vyaväyämisa-madya-sevä
nityä hi jantor na hi tatra codanä
vyavasthitis tesu viväha-yajna
surä-grahair äsu nivrttir istä
SYNONYMS
loke—in the material world; vyaväya—sex indulgence; ämisa—of meat; madya—and liquor; seväh—the taking; nityäh—always found; hi—indeed; jantoù—in the conditioned living being; na—not; hi—indeed; tatra—in regard to them; codanä—any command of scripture; vyavasthitih—the prescribed arrangement; tesu—in these; viväha—by sacred marriage; yajna—the offering of sacrifice; surä-grahaih—and the acceptance of ritual cups of wine; äsu-of these; nivrttiù—cessation; istä—is the desired end.
TRANSLATION
“In this material world the conditioned soul is always inclined to sex, meat-eating and intoxication. Therefore religious scriptures never actually encourage such activities. Although the scriptural injunctions provide for sex through sacred marriage, for meat-eating through sacrificial offerings and for intoxication through the acceptance of ritual cups of wine, such ceremonies are meant for the ultimate purpose of renunciation”.
PURPORT
Those who are not situated in pure Krishna consciousness are always inclined toward material sense gratification in the form of illicit sex, meat-eating and intoxication. They simply desire a party life of eat, drink and be merry. Such materialistic persons are unwilling to give up such temporary gratification because they are firmly bound up in the bodily concept of life. For such persons there are numerous Vedic injunctions for rituals that bestow material sense pleasure in a regulated manner. The conditioned soul thereby becomes accustomed to indirectly worshiping the Supreme Lord by accepting the austerity of regulated sense gratification in obedience to the Vedic way of life. Through purification the living entity gradually develops a higher taste and becomes directly attracted to the spiritual nature of the Lord.
Sometimes the fallen practitioners of the karma-kanda section of the Vedas assert that the material fruitive results of Vedic ceremonies should never be given up, because they are prescribed by religious scriptures. For example, there is a Vedic injunction that in the proper season a husband must approach his wife at night at least five days after her menstrual period, if the wife has properly bathed and cleansed herself. Thus, a responsible householder should engage in religious sex life.
The injunction that one must approach his wife for sex life is explained by the Vaishnava äcäryas(spiritual masters). Within the material world almost every man is very lusty and desires passionate sex life with every attractive woman he meets, or with any woman at all. Actually, for an ordinary materialistic man it is an accomplishment if he can restrict himself to relationships with his lawfully wedded wife. But because familiarity breeds contempt, the natural tendency is for the husband to gradually become envious or resentful of the wife and desire illicit connections with other women. Such a mentality is most sinful and abominable, and the Vedic scripture therefore orders that one must approach his actual wife, with a desire to beget children, and thus curtail the tendency toward illicit sexual connection with other women. Were there no such Vedic injunction ordering one to approach his wife, many men would naturally be inclined to neglect their wives and pollute other women by illicit connection.

What is Buddy Punching?

If you’re a small business owner, you know the importance of saving money

For most businesses, payroll is the largest cost associated in doing business. It’s a tough decition, many businesses typically eliminate their personnel in order to maintain their business.

One option to eliminating staff is to look for opportunities to make your business more efficiently. Well if you have workers who punch a time clock, you may not realized the wasted costs your company occurs when workers cheat the system. Buddy punching is the new word that has been coined for dishonest employees taking advantage of your business.

How is buddy punching defined?

Buddy punching is the term for when a worker has a friend or another coworker punch their time card for them allowing them to add increased ‘worked hours’ to their time card.

Maybe its an worker leaving 30 minutes early, or taking an extra twenty minutes for a scheduled break, but the fact of the matter is that when you add up all of those wasted minutes, the exposed costs accumulate very fast.

Buddy punching can also occur for employers who use electronic based or PIN based time and attendance systems. In fact, a very recent study of SMBs showed that a shockingly high percentage either knew their colleagues digital password and admitted to punching a friends PIN in on their behalf.

Now that we have explained this whole buddy punching phenomenon, I’m sure your concerned with what you can do to prevent it. Biometric time clocks are the most popular ways to eliminate this fraud and they are more affordable than ever.

By using a biometric time attendance system, workers can only punch in and out when they are standing in front of the time clock.

The new clocks are easy to use and all workers have to do is swipe their fingerprint on a biometric scanner and the clock will register them as entering or leaving.

If you are buying a biometric time clock, be aware that although biometrics has quickly evolved, some biometric systems that features a fingerprint scan only, may not be compatible with a small percentage of your employees – usually under five percent. The main reason for this is that some employees may have worn fingerprints which prevents them from getting reliable]fast punches. It never hurts to make the investment into a biometric time clock that comes with additional login features such as an HID card or electronic PIN system.

By taking a step against buddy punching, your company can cut down your payroll expenses and help your business save thousands of dollars each every year!

Fasting + me dont work well..plz help..?

i am Muslim but im having problems this Ramadan..when i fast i tend to get alittle dizzy and tired but this year..im in a new school and every day we run 4-6 miles..yesterday i fainted.. i wana fast but i dont want to die of dehydration lol..help..

ps: im blood surger gets dangerously low sometimes…but my family is devout soo… what sud i tell themm
im 14..ill probly just tell em not to make me run..its pretty intense with all the oversize at private school…plus i got low blood glucose..

Sometimes it’s hard to discuss your religious issues with teachers who don’t understand. If you’re in a non-Muslim private school chances are they will be even more firm with the rules for you. It is important that you fast, however your health is at risk here.

1. discuss with your teachers and administration that Ramadan is going to be over soon and do not wish to run while fasting for religious reasons.

2. If that doesn’t work, approach your family and see if they can work something out at school for you.

3. After you have done both those things and have been unsuccessful and unable to come to a resolution with the school and staff, then Allah will understand why you are not fasting.

Allah doesn’t want his followers to die during Ramadan do it fasting. Pay the Kuofara.

What are our two greatest end-of-life fears? To endure unnecessary prolonged pain and suffering, and merely to exist in a state of total indignity and dependency such as in Alzheimer’s dementia. Uninformed, some people add layers of tragedy to their destiny. Some choose to die prematurely; others, violently; a few risk imprisonment by mercy killing. Often their lament is, If only Physician-Assi…
