ramadan calendar fasting

ramadan calendar fasting
How much more difficult can Ramadan be…?

I’ve just looked at the future dates for Ramadan and by 2015, it’ll begin in mid-June. Crazy. That would mean fasting from about 4am until 10pm, if, for example, you live in the UK. No water – nothing during the longest days of the year.
And what about muslims who live in, say, Sweden, when there’s perpetual daylight at that time of the year?
With respect, wouldn’t it be better to fix the date of Ramadan, or at least have it from late summer to spring? I mean, would God really mind that much?
I know the luna calendar dictates the dates for Ramadan. But it all seems a little antiquated. I think there are going to be a lot bad-tempered and very miserable muslims around then. I know, I live with one, and he always says people become irascible and short-tempered.

There’s a lot that seems antiquated…but I doubt you’d get much support for that idea.
